I have finally thrown up my hands to God and said, "Okay, I'm sick. I get it. I have to slow down." Too many migraines and too much pain have changed my life drastically. My house is messier and dirtier than its ever been. I don't feel bad calling off a social event instead of going and suffering through it. And I'm noticing that all those things that I thought were so important to get done really aren't all that important. Life and "just being" with my family has taken over, and I appreciate each "healthy" moment. And finally realizing that I'm not really in charge - giving it up to God. That's my new motto. We seem to be unable to allow ourselves enough time to just get together with others for the pleasure of it. I do very little for pleasure. We are all overwhelmed with lives approaching chaos. Today in my theology discussion class we began a discussion of myths. I like that one hour per week when I can just sit with about 10 other great people and discuss theology and other topics that are not as deep. Having a slow paced conversation relaxes me. I hope to add a few more opportunities like that to my life in the coming year. Take care.
